About the Reviewer

My name is Bryan Mortensen and I love eggs benedict.  One would have to love them to start a website dedicated to them.  I have joked for years about rating the eggs benny that I inevitably order them at every restaurant that I can find.  So one day, on my lunch break, I decided the time had arrived!  So welcome to eggsbenny.ca

I am a picky eater.  Y’all should know that before we even start.  When it comes to eggs benedict, I am a bit of a purist.  I like my eggs medium, my hollandaise sauce thick, and no funny business with salmon or avocado.  (maybe some of my friends can tackle those as guest columnists.

I have tried eggs benny at dozens of restaurants and am a repeat ordered at many.  I am also a tough marker.  I expect my eggs to arrive as I ordered them.  If you run a restaurant and take the time to ask how I like my eggs, they better show up as ordered.  Nothing makes me grumpier than runny eggs.

In my professional life, I work in the not-for-profit sector, so it tickles me to be writing a blog on one of the most bourgeois things of which I could think.  I have an English degree with a philosophy minor, but don’t expect to find perfect prose here.  In fact, expect typos.  I love to travel, so you can count of some travel posts as well cause if I am vacation, you can expect me to be eating eggs benedict.
